My name is Mrs. Melnik. I am so excited to be your first grade teacher! We will be in Room 108 together this year. You will have fun learning and working in first grade. You will study about Mexico, Africa, animals, and weather. You’ll read and listen to great books. You’ll write many stories and become an author! You’ll learn new fun math games. You’ll create many projects on the iPad. Are you ready for a fantastic year together?
What have you done this summer? I spent time packing up my classroom at Stratton. I can’t wait to unpack and set up our new classroom. I went on a trip to Sweden and Iceland. Can you find either of these countries on a map? I spent a week at Summer Fun teaching a class about poetry and painting. I went on many walks with my dog, Daisy. I visited my Mom, Dad, and brother, Teddy in Connecticut. You will write and draw about your summer break in September.
