We had a Skype call today with author Louise Borden! We shared our book that we created based on Off to First Grade-I will get that out to everyone soon. Louise read us Big Brothers Don't Take Naps. She shared her journal and showed us the stages of making a book. We even got to see her writing room! We learned so much about writing and editing. She saw the beginning of our fire drill and we finished our conversation after! Louise is going to come visit us in October! It was very exciting for all of us!!!

This afternoon I read The Listening Walk. We then took a listening walk through the building and outside. We heard footsteps, talking, water rushing, buzzing, toilets flushing, clicking, and even Ms. Liza singing!
We read America Is... another one of Louise's great books. We had a great discussion about America!
