After an introductory discussion and brief demonstration, participants sculpt their own spirit animals which they can paint when dry and decorate with a "bundle" using small shells, feathers beads, etc.  In a closing circle, participants can share their animals and what they learned about them as they sculpted. Suitable for youth ages 7-12. Space is limited. please arrive 30 minutes early to secure a ticket.

Welcome First Grade Families!

Welcome to all new first grade families!  I hope you all have received the Welcome Packet.  This blog will be updated frequently to share what we have been doing at school.

Please stop by on Wednesday or Thursday afternoon to visit the classroom, and if you would like, drop off supplies.  If another time works better for you, just let me know.

I'm really excited to have a student teacher join us this fall! Emily has already been in multiple times helping to get Room 108 ready for our first graders. A note from Ms. Magni: Hello! My name is Emily Magni and I am a graduate student at Lesley University. I will be doing my student teaching with Mrs. Melnik for the first half of the school year in order to fulfill my requirements to earn my Masters in Early Childhood Education. I am looking forward to working with Mrs. Melnik and getting to know all of your children. I can't wait to meet you all as well!

Our class drop off and pick up happens on our classroom patio- Door #11 by the pineapple entrance on the North Union Street side of the building.

Please email with any questions nmelnik@arlington.k12.ma.us.   We are looking forward to a fabulous year together! :-)

Thanks for a great year!!
